In the Edo period, there was a shrine maiden called "Itsukihime" in the mountain village of Kadono. Jinta, a young man who acts as the shrine maiden's guardian despite being a stranger, encounters a mysterious demon who speaks of the far future in the forest where he went to defeat it. From Edo to the Heisei era, this huge Japanese fantasy series follows a demon man who travels through time while continuously questioning the meaning of wielding a sword. ★6.8It is 1840, year 1 of Japan's Tenpo era. There lies a small village known as Kadono that is home to the siblings Jinta and Suzune. Jinta is quickly dispatched to slay demons.

★6Jinta changes his name to Jinya and departs Kadono. Ten years pass and he is now a ronin living in Edo, well-known by the locals as "the demon slayer."

★6.5In September of 1867, Somegoro Akitsu leaves Kyoto with a tea set that he takes to Jinya. Akitsu wants to find someone who can use the set to conduct a tea ceremony.
